چکیده

Production and distribution operations are the two most important operational functions in a supply chain. To achieve optimal operational performance in a supply chain, it is critical to integrate these two functions and plan and schedule them jointly in a coordinated way. In this chapter, we focus on integrated models that involve explicitly both production and distribution decisions at the tactical and operational levels. We classify existing models into five classes based on level of decisions, structure of production-distribution integration, and problem parameters. We provide a review for each class of problems and suggest some directions for future research.

Exact Mixed Integer Programming for Integrated Scheduling and Process Planning in Flexible Environment

This paper presented a mixed integer programming for integrated scheduling and process planning. The presented process plan included some orders with precedence relations similar to Multiple Traveling Salesman Problem (MTSP), which was categorized as an NP-hard problem. These types of problems are also called advanced planning because of simultaneously determining the appropriate sequence and m...

Presenting a Bi-objective Integrated Model for Production-Distribution Problem in a Multi-level Supply Chain Network

In this study, a bi-objective model for integrated planning of production-distribution in a multi-level supply chain network with multiple product types and multi time periods is presented. The supply chain network including manufacturers, distribution centers, retailers and final customers is proposed. The proposed model minimizes the total supply chain costs and transforming time of products ...

Scheduling with Inserted Idle Time: Problem Taxonomy and Literature Review

In the context of production scheduling, inserted idle time (IIT) occurs whenever a resource is deliberately kept idle in the face of waiting jobs. IIT schedules are particularly relevant in multimachine industrial situations where earliness costs and=or dynamically arriving jobs with due dates come into play. We provide a taxonomy of environments in which IIT scheduling is relevant, review the...

 The Quantification of Uncertainties in Production Prediction Using Integrated Statistical and Neural Network Approaches: An Iranian Gas Field Case Study

Uncertainty in production prediction has been subject to numerous investigations. Geological and reservoir engineering data comprise a huge number of data entries to the simulation models. Thus, uncertainty of these data can largely affect the reliability of the simulation model. Due to these reasons, it is worthy to present the desired quantity with a probability distribution instead of a sing...

Towards Supply Chain Planning Integration: Uncertainty Analysis Using Fuzzy Mathematical Programming Approach in a Plastic Forming Company

Affected by globalization and increased complexity, supply chain managers have learned about the importance of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). However, in large scale supply chains, S&OP has received little attention, by both academics and practitioners. The purpose of this manuscript is to investigate the advantages of S&OP process using a mathematical modeling approach in a large scale ...
